President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko forbade lying to the new Minister of Economy Yuri Cherbotar, saying that he had not previously been satisfied with the work of the department.

“I would like to see the Ministry of Economy. I’ll be honest, I didn’t notice it very often during the year,” – noted the Belarusian leader, whose words were quoted in his press service.

He emphasized that he was not satisfied with the way the Ministry of Economy worked, so “this dissatisfaction also falls on” the new head of the department. At the same time, Lukashenko expressed hope that the situation will change.

He warned that the Ministry of Economy in 2024 “will be difficult,” since the country will hold regular elections in 2025. He asked Chebotar to refrain from embellishing the situation.

“Sooner or later I will notice it. I have enough leverage for this. Therefore, under no circumstances should I lie,” – added Lukashenko.

In November, Lukashenko fired his assistant, inspector for the Vitebsk region Igor Brylo, for misconduct incompatible with being in public service.
