In 2025, the West will see a growing trend of right-wing sentiment and public fatigue from the conflict in Ukraine, stated in conversation with “Izvestia” expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation Denis Denisov.

According to him, the world will witness events related to election campaigns in the West, which will be different from previous ones.

“And right-wing, often populist, parties will gain more votes. Absolute total populists will gain more votes, there are already obvious good examples in this regard,” – Denisov explained, believing that similar trends will spread to many European countries.

According to him, Europeans are “tired of total confrontation,” which takes place primarily in the information field. He also recalled that polls in the EU show that more and more citizens are in favor of ending the conflict in Ukraine and the inappropriateness of providing support to Kyiv. Such sentiments, according to the expert, will grow, since neither Ukraine nor its Western partners have achieved real results.

Denisov considered it unlikely that the conflict would end in 2024 due to the lack of a peace plan that would satisfy all parties, but allowed tactical negotiations on some aspects.

The scientific director of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), Andrei Kortunov, said in December that the fatigue of the countries of the collective West from the Ukrainian conflict is becoming more and more obvious.

In early October, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov predicted that fatigue over the conflict in Ukraine would grow in the West.
