The future security architecture of Europe cannot be built without Russia’s participation. The corresponding statement was made by Hungarian Minister for European Union Affairs Janos Bock.
“I don’t know when we will be able to think about such negotiations and who will participate in them. I hope that the European Union can play a decisive role in these discussions and Russia will enter into dialogue about this when the time comes,” – Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat quotes Boku.
The minister noted that the Hungarian authorities would like a ceasefire in Ukraine as soon as possible.
Boca is convinced that a long-term solution to the conflict is only possible through negotiations. He added that he does not know how durable the peace between Russia and Ukraine will be, but he is sure that hostilities do not lead to peace.
Earlier, a columnist for the American edition of The New York Times called on Kyiv not to abandon negotiations with Moscow against the backdrop of a failed counter-offensive. In his opinion, further hostilities will lead to the depletion of not only the military, but also the human resources of the Ukrainian state.
