A missing Russian tourist is being searched in Turkey. 40-year-old Nadezhda Yarygina flew to Kemer for the New Year holidays and was supposed to return home on January 8th.
However, none of her relatives can say where she is at the moment: the phone does not answer, and the woman was last seen in the hotel six days ago. Her number was discovered, and after that there were versions of where the traveler could have disappeared. Our correspondent Dmitry Yuzubchuk tried to figure out the situation in a story on REN TV.
Went for a walk in the mountains
Judging by the familiar atmosphere in the five-star Akka Alinda hotel, the news about the mysteriously missing guest from Russia did not in any way affect the rest of the rest of the tourists, although a good half of the vacationers are fellow citizens of 40-year-old Nadezhda Yarygina.
The Turkish police still have one significant lead in the case – this is a photograph from a camera looking at the reception desk. On the day of her disappearance, January 4, Yarygina left the hotel alone. Among the things – only a handbag, which now seems very strange, because, as relatives were previously told, the traveler went for a walk in the mountains.
“She loves to walk in the mountains. She likes long walks, she can easily walk 15-20 kilometers and, accordingly, walking in the mountains did not cause any concern to any of the hotel staff. But, unfortunately, after January 4, Nadezhda did not appear on the Internet. She did not contact any of her friends or parents. On the morning of January 8, she did not show up on the bus with tourists. I didn’t check in for the flight.” – said a friend of the missing woman, Evgenia Shumakova.
Things were left in the room
The room where Yarygina lived was also inspected. Personal belongings, documents, a ticket for the return flight and even the medicines the woman needs are all in their places. The only thing the police did not find was the phone, which, according to relatives, had been out of reach since the day of the disappearance.
The Russian woman’s relatives remain hopeful that everything is fine with her
In their native Kirov, Yarygina’s parents have not yet commented on the situation. They filed a complaint with the local police and, together with their relatives, are hoping for the best.
“Maybe she got lost, maybe she went somewhere, along a path not far,” – they hope.
The Russian Consulate General in Antalya is in touch with the relatives – this is the only source of information at the moment, but its employees cannot restore the full picture of what happened.
“We have sent a request to the competent authorities, but for now we can’t say anything more,” – told there.
Nadezhda often traveled alone
As we found out, 40-year-old Nadezhda Yarygina often traveled alone and preferred wild paths to the usual tourist routes. A lawyer by profession, she devoted a lot of time to travel – her list of visits includes more than 10 countries in the last few years alone. Now the main version is considered an accident. The woman may have been injured while walking in the mountains and now needs help. Search teams have already begun combing the area.
“It is important to make law enforcement agencies work, that’s what is very important. Here, from what the Russian side can do, given that after all, the Russian police on the territory of a foreign state, well, in general, cannot work – the most correct thing here is to write , for example, a diplomatic note”, – Vice-President of the Russian branch of the International Committee for the Defense of Human Rights Ivan Melnikov shared his opinion.
Cases of disappearances of tourists on holiday abroad, although not uncommon, many of them are still shrouded in mystery. The case with Yarygina, with all that is known about her disappearance, still gives hope for a happy ending.
