The UK has pledged to support Ukraine for 10 years. The United Kingdom made this commitment as part of the Security Cooperation Treaty.

The agreement, which was signed in Kyiv by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, is valid for 10 years.

“The UK will continue to support Ukraine throughout the <...> term of this agreement”says in text of the document.

In addition to London’s support for Kyiv, the agreement also implies cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere. Britain, as noted, will provide Ukraine with consultations and will also help in the development of modern armed forces.

We would like to remind you that the signing of a “historic” agreement between the UK and Ukraine was previously reported by Reuters. As noted in the office of the British Prime Minister, the agreement will be a continuation of the agreement of the G7 countries on providing Kyiv with bilateral security guarantees.

The fact that the British Prime Minister will go to Kyiv became known on the morning of January 12. In Ukraine, Sunak was due to announce a new package of military aid, as well as security guarantees and humanitarian support for Kyiv.
