The global peace summit that is being talked about in Ukraine will lead nowhere without Russia’s participation. The corresponding statement was made by the director of the Kyiv Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev.
“If the realism of this “global peace summit” increases, then the question will arise: if we talk about the effectiveness of the summit, then it is clear that without Russia’s participation it will be very difficult“, Iton TV quotes Karasev.
Karasev noted that the meeting, which took place in Davos on February 14 as part of the discussion of the Ukrainian “peace formula,” was inconclusive.
The political scientist believes that the absence of Russia at this meeting did not allow the parties to get closer to peace negotiations.
Earlier it was reported that Switzerland should invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to Bern to confirm its neutrality in the conflict in Ukraine. The corresponding statement was made by the deputy of the Swiss National Council Rino Büchel.
He emphasized that the visit of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to the Swiss parliament was evidence that Bern actually took the side of one of the participants in the conflict.
