This year’s first congress of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union – For Reason and Justice (SUV) party began with words of gratitude to the Red Army for liberating Europe from the Nazis.
New member of the party, writer and journalist Daniela Dan, emphasized that the Red Army alone sacrificed 13 million soldiers to free all those enslaved and blinded by the National Socialist regime.
“For this we are grateful and eternally indebted to them, no matter how the situation in the world has changed over the past time,” – she said.
Dan also noted that the Auschwitz-Birkenau (Auschwitz) concentration camp in Poland was liberated by Soviet soldiers, and not by representatives of the Allied armies, as the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said.
According to the writer, the greatest crime in the history of mankind was committed by the Germans. As a result, she emphasized that a party is currently being created that seeks to preserve the memory of this and draw conclusions.
Previously, Thomas Geisel, a candidate from the Sarah Wagenknecht Union in the European elections, spoke in favor of negotiations with Russia on the Ukrainian conflict. The former mayor of Düsseldorf said that arms supplies would only prolong the conflict, which would only increase the scale of destruction and the death toll.
