An interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin to journalist Tucker Carlson may provide a chance to take the first steps towards improving Russian-American relations. To this opinion in a conversation with REN TV political scientist and former New York Times journalist John Varoli came.

“This is truly a great moment in the history of Russian-American relations. Maybe there is a chance that we can end these tensions or at least take the first steps towards ending tensions between Russia and America.”Varoli said.

The expert clarified: the ruling class and political elites of the West have made it clear that their goal is the destruction of Russia and the removal of Putin from power. However, thanks to the interview, many Americans will be able to understand that the Russian Federation is not an enemy of the citizens of the United States.

“They don’t know that the conflict in Ukraine is essentially a civil war, and Russia intervened in the civil war to protect ethnic Russians living in the Donbass and Crimea. This, in essence, is the conflict. But Americans and Europeans do not understand this they know because there is an information blockade here”Varoli said.

The political scientist emphasized that the extermination of ethnic Russians in Ukraine was sponsored by NATO, and for many residents of Western countries this will be a revelation.
