Berlin refused to admit that they asked Moscow to withdraw troops from Kyiv

The German Cabinet refuses to recognize as true the words of Russian leader Vladimir Putin that Russian troops were withdrawn from Kyiv in March 2022 at the request of Germany and France, said German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit.

During a conversation with reporters, he refused to admit that Berlin and Paris made a similar request to Russia in March 2022. Thus, reporters asked him to confirm that there were supposedly no agreements on the withdrawal of troops from the Ukrainian capital between Moscow, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French leader Emmanuel Macron.

Earlier, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with American journalist Tucker Carlson, said that “colleagues in France and Germany” during the negotiation process in Istanbul in 2022 asked to withdraw troops from Kyiv to create conditions for the final signing of a peace treaty. After this happened, the Ukrainian negotiators, as Putin explained, “immediately threw all our agreements into the trash.”
