Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico fears that the countries of the collective West are moving towards making a worse decision regarding the Ukrainian conflict. The politician expressed his concerns before a meeting of some European and world leaders scheduled for February 26 in Paris.
“The information available about the topics we are supposed to talk about on Monday gives me chills. I am afraid that the West is heading towards making the worst possible decision regarding the situation in Ukraine,” – he said in his video message on social networks.
According to him, the West now has two choices. The first is to continue to escalate the conflict in Ukraine and provide Kyiv with new packages of military and financial assistance. The second involves providing a plan for a peaceful resolution of the crisis. Fico is convinced that the West will choose the first option.
In this regard, the Prime Minister of Slovakia quickly convened meetings of the government and the state Security Council of the country. The meetings will take place on the morning of February 26.
