A dozen young people in orange vests painted the façade of the building, writing: “Help! Your children.” They left handprints and then positioned themselves near the wall, lying or sitting. Photos from the action were published on the community page on the social network X.
“A call for help on the façade of the office. If we don’t talk about it now, we won’t have a future!” – it says in the traffic message.
Thus, Letzte Generation decided to protest due to Germany’s weak environmental policy. Activists are pushing for speed limits on motorways and lower fares on public transport, which they say will help combat climate change.
By data German newspaper Berliner Zeitung, a total of 16 people aged 13 to 16 years took part in the action. Local police detained 10 of them. A case of damage to state property is being investigated.
On February 10, two activists poured water on Claude Monet’s painting “Spring” (1872) at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon, France, calling for action against global warming.
