Bancel believes that Trump’s successes will negatively affect the decision-making process in Congress. House Speaker Mike Johnson faces a real problem within the Republican Party, since its moderate wing does not want to give in to the far right, and Johnson himself does not have much real power, the expert explained.

The professor added that Trump does not have the ability to reach a compromise on the Ukrainian crisis, despite a more benevolent position towards Russia. At the same time, current President Joe Biden has a greater chance of achieving a peaceful settlement due to the ability to influence other NATO members and EU countries.
