The Skoda Superb lineup will remain the lifeboat and station wagon. In addition to petrol and diesel versions of the model, two chargeable hybrid options will also be offered.
Skoda completes the development of the fifth generation of the Superb. The Czech brand’s flagship is undergoing final tests and will debut this year. Information on this was included in Skoda’s annual report.
The Skoda Superb 2023 has been partially declassified in official images. The car will retain the familiar directional design, but will also borrow features of the Skoda Enyaq electric crossover such as rectangular headlights and lanterns.
Like the current model, the new Skoda Superb will be built on the MQB platform and will remain a close relative of the Volkswagen Passat. Both models are scheduled to be produced at the factory in Bratislava, but if the new VW Passat B9 is only available in station wagon body, the retreat will remain in the Superb range.
The 2023 Skoda Superb will retain 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbo petrol engines, as well as 2.0-liter turbodiesels, but these will be complemented by a 48-volt mild hybrid setup. Additionally, two rechargeable hybrids are expected in the lineup. The Superb will be offered with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Previously Focus mentioned the second generation Skoda Kodiaq crossover. It should appear by the end of 2023.
