The new Ineos electric car will be reminiscent of classic Land Rovers in terms of design. The power reserve of the SUV will be at least 400 km.
Young British company Ineos plans to expand its line. The infamous Grenadier SUV will have a brother and will be electric. Sir Jim Radcliffe, CEO of the Ineos concern, told Auto Express about this.
Therefore, the new Ineos Grenadier will not receive an electric version, although it has not been previously rejected. The future model will be made more compact (4.3-4.4 m long), because the Grenadier electric car will be very heavy.
The electric SUV will debut in 2026 and could be called the Ineos Grenadier Sport. The car will retain its brutal angular design in the spirit of the classic Land Rover, but will be slightly lower than the Grenadier – this will improve its aerodynamics.
The Austrian company Magna Steyr is developing a new model. Its main competitors will be the new Rivian R1S, as well as future electric versions of the Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco.
A separate electrical platform is being created for the Ineos Grenadier Sport, supporting 400 and 800 volt power plants. According to Jim Radcliffe, the range will be at least 400 km, which will allow the SUV to go from London to Manchester without recharging.
Previously Focus reported that the new Ineos pickup truck was photographed on the roads before the launch.
