The new Dacia Bigster will debut a little later than expected. The flagship crossover of the Romanian brand Renault Group will be presented in early 2025. Javier Martinet, head of Dacia sales and marketing, shared the details of the new model with Autocar reporters.
He said the Dacia Bigster crossover will be built on the CMF platform, as are Renault Austral and Espace, as well as the Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail. At the same time, Dacia is doing everything possible to make the new model significantly cheaper than its counterparts, because affordability is the main advantage of the Romanian brand.
Crossover Dacia Bigster will be at the level of lower class models. According to Xavier Martinet, this can be done by reducing the number of expensive active safety systems in the base version. In addition, the migration will have several configuration options.
The new Dacia Bigster will be around 4.6m long and will retain the cut-out design of the pre-production concept car. Meanwhile, the new third-generation Duster will be made in the same style.
The model will be offered with 1.2-liter petrol turbo engines with 120 and 140 hp. and also with a 160-horsepower hybrid setup from Renault Captur. A variant with factory HBO is also expected. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions will be available.
