The Acura Integra Type S will be built on the basis of the Honda Civic Type R. The new model will be even more powerful and faster than its “brother”.
Acura has revealed the first details about the charging Integra Type S hatchback, which will be a more premium version of the Honda Civic Type R. This was said on the official Acura website.
Acura says the Integra Type S has “best-in-class power-to-weight ratio.” Despite this, the brand did not name the detailed features of the model.
The Acura Integra Type S will be equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine producing 320 hp. and a torque of 420 Nm. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
All power will be sent to the front wheels. To increase efficiency, a self-locking differential is provided.
The novelty will also differ from the standard model with a retuned suspension. It will become stiffer and allow for faster cornering.
The teaser images only show some details of the car. There will be triple exhaust outlets at the rear and the bumpers will look more aggressive.
The Acura Integra Type S will be launched in April ahead of the Acura Grand Prix scheduled for April 14-16 in Long Beach. Sales in the US will begin in the summer of 2023.
