Volkswagen Passat electric successor fully classified before premiere (photo)

The Volkswagen ID.7 electric car will replace the Passat sedan. Equipped with a 204 horsepower engine, the power reserve of the D-class model will reach 700 km.

Photos of Volkswagen ID.7 went viral. The D-class electric sedan will be presented at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 18. This was reported by the CarNewsChina site.

The new Volkswagen ID.7 is the production version of the ID.Aero concept car. It will be the successor to the VW Passat sedan, since its production has already been discontinued, and the new generation of the popular model will be offered only in a station wagon body.

The Volkswagen ID.7 electric car visually differs little from its prototype. It has an aerodynamic design with its sloping arched roof and high window line. The beveled headlights are connected by a diode insert, and the lights are stretched across the entire width of the body.

The new Volkswagen ID.7 is built on the MEB electric platform. It is slightly larger than the Passat in size.

Dimensions Volkswagen ID.7 2023:

  • height – 1537 mm;
  • wheelbase – 2965 mm;
  • weight – 2122 kg.

Salon Volkswagen ID.7 was previously shown in official photos. It is known that the sedan will receive a narrow virtual instrument cluster, a large 15-inch touchscreen and a windshield projection with augmented reality.

The sedan will debut in a 204-horsepower rear-wheel drive version with an 82 kWh battery. Its top speed will be limited to 155 km/h and its cruising range will reach 700 km. Volkswagen ID.7 will cost around $55,000.
