Renault’s budget electric car burned to the ground due to battery fire (video)

The Dacia Spring electric car was just bought from a car dealership a year and a half ago. Not always a single malfunction in the car.

In the Romanian village of Timis, an affordable Dacia Spring electric car caught fire within minutes of a battery fire. This was reported on the InsideEVs website.

Dacia Spring is a very popular electric vehicle in Europe. The prices of the model in some countries start from 13 thousand dollars.

The incident occurred on May 11 at around 17:00 local time. The owner of the electric car said that his wife, who was picking up her son from school at the time, was driving the car.

The car, not far from the house, started making loud noises. The woman immediately got out of the car with her son and noticed that the electric car was starting to smoke, followed by flames.

The fire engulfed the entire car in an instant. Rescuers did not have time to put out the flames in time and the electric car caught fire and fell to the ground.

Investigators said the fire was caused by a short circuit. The owner of the car believes that a faulty battery is to blame.

Dacia Spring was bought from a car dealership a year and a half ago. During this time, the car traveled only 36 thousand kilometers.

The police continue to learn all the details of the incident. Fortunately nobody was harmed.

Previously Focus Green said NCAP experts consider the Dacia Spring electric car to be the best car of 2022.
