Fines for traffic violations in Finland depend on the income level of drivers. Millionaires pay serious sums to speed.
An incredibly high speeding ticket was issued in Finland. Anders Wiklef, a citizen of the country, had to pay 121 thousand euros and lost his rights for 10 days. This was reported by the Finnish edition of Nya Aland.
Police stopped Anders Wyklef as he was traveling at 82 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Later, he explained that he did not have time to slow down in time, because before that a 70 km / h limit was set on the road.
Although the speed is small, the fine is substantial. The fact is that fines for traffic violations in Finland directly depend on the income level of the offender.
Anders Wiklef is one of Finland’s wealthiest citizens. He owns more than 20 companies in the fields of construction logistics, real estate, trade and tourism. In 2020, they brought a profit of 11 million euros to the businessman.
This isn’t the first major traffic ticket for Anders Wiklef. In 2013, the millionaire paid 95,000 euros for speeding, and in 2018 – 63,680 euros.
It is noteworthy that this is not the largest speeding ticket in the world. In 2021 (with the same penalty system) the owner of a Mercedes SLS AMG in Switzerland paid one million dollars.
