Ducati reveals details of its path to a sustainable transition

Little by little, the world’s most famous brands are joining a sustainable transition that Ducati, the legendary Italian motorcycle manufacturer. Claudio Domenicali, CEO of the company, revealed some interesting things about the changes they hope to implement in the future in an interview with Cycle World a few months ago.

Recently, two wheel company stormed the news portals and the world of sustainability after confirming their role as an official supplier motorcycles for MotoE as of the 2023 season (currently ongoing). It is this intrusion into the category of electrified cars, endorsed by the International Motorcyclist Federation (FIM), that will be part of the transition to a green panorama.

“We are interested in using MotoE as a laboratory to study and develop new variants. Battery, inverter and electric powertrain technologies are advancing rapidly and we want to be at the forefront to experiment, evolve and be ready when the real race starts.” said.

Here, Ducati will extract as much information about racing bikes as possiblegiven that they will be subjected to difficult situations in terms of engine, braking and battery, so this category will be the perfect platform for his first street bike, as Domenicali spoke about.

“It comes at the right time for Ducati, which has been studying the situation with electric drives for many years, because it will allow us to experiment in a well-known and controlled area, such as racing competitions. Other manufacturers have already gone down this path. At Ducati, we have been thinking about this for a while. Now is the time to learn and prepare for this transition.” continuation.

Finally, The CEO of the Italian company revealed one of the details that still needs to be worked on it is difficult to strengthen the structure of electric mobility in the world: charging networks. In his opinion, there is still work to be done to create effective systems to meet the needs of users of electrified vehicles.
