The new Volvo EM90 is a 5.2-metre luxury minivan with an electric motor. The range of the family model exceeds 700 km.

Today, February 6, mass production of the Volvo EM90 started. The first minivan in the history of the Swedish brand was assembled in China at the facilities of the Geely concern (owner of Volvo). This was reported by the website CarNewsChina.

The new Volvo EM90 is assembled on the same assembly line as Zeekr brand models. This is not surprising, since the minivan is based on the Zeekr 009 electric car. The price of the Volvo EM90 starts at $ 115,000. It will first appear in China and later enter the European market.

Volvo’s first minivan is 5.2m long and features a simple, directional design with a short bonnet. The model was launched in a six-seater version in which the first and second row seats feature electric drive, ventilation and massage. Leather, wood and even crystal were used in interior decoration.

The Volvo EM90 package also includes a 15.4-inch touchscreen, three-zone climate control, air suspension, Bowlers & Wilkins acoustics with 21 speakers and a host of security systems.

The Volvo EM90 electric car will initially be produced in a 272 horsepower rear-wheel drive version with a 116 kWh battery capacity. The vehicle, which can reach 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, can travel 738 km without recharging. A more powerful all-wheel drive version is expected later.
