Almost 50% of exports from the European Union to Russia fell under restrictive measures. Such data was obtained taking into account the tenth package of anti-Russian sanctions. This was announced by the European Commission.
According to the EC, the amount of exports from the European Union now banned by sanctions is about 46.9 billion euros.
“These bans and restrictions affect exports from the European Union totaling 11.4 billion euros (as of 2021). They complement the export ban of 32.5 billion euros in accordance with earlier sanctions packages”– explained in the European Commission.
Recall that the tenth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation was agreed late in the evening on February 24. Previously, it included restrictions on electronics, special vehicles, truck and aircraft engine parts, dual-use goods, the construction sector, rare earth materials, thermal imaging cameras and high-tech goods, including parts for drones, missiles and helicopters.
It should be noted that the procedure for approving the bans was greatly delayed due to disagreements between the EU countries. Therefore, instead of the promised February 24, new restrictions will come into force only after publication in the official journal. Along with this, the names of individuals and organizations that have fallen under personal restrictions will become known.
