Ukrainians were allowed to apply for pensions in a new way. Focus explains how it can be done.
Ukrainians who do not have a qualified electronic signature (QES) can apply for retirement online using “Diya.Pidpis”. This was reported by the press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU).
For this, you need to register in the “Diya” mobile application, activate “Diya.Pidpis” and prepare scanned copies of the necessary documents.
how to use the service
Open the web portal of the Fund’s electronic services, select the “Retirement Application” tab, read the information on the screen, and then click the “Login” link.
You need to enter your personal account using “Diya.Pidpis”, then:
- In the “About the pension provision” section, open the “Application for the pension assignment” tab. Then click “Continue” and select the type of pension, for example – “Retirement by age”;
- fill out the questionnaire and agree to the transfer and processing of your personal data (tick the box);
- Include scanned copies of required documents.
After that, a complete application form for a retirement appointment will appear on the screen. If necessary, the application form can be edited. If you click on the “Sign and send to PFU” button, the application will be signed with the help of “Diya.Pidpis”.

Which Ukrainians’ pensions will be recalculated in April 2023?
According to Darina Marchak, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, from April 1, payments to working pensioners who continue to work after the appointment of pensions and have at least 24 months of insurance experience will be recalculated.
As Marchak points out, the recalculation in 2023 will take place in optimal terms:
- or taking into account the length of service after the previous assignment (recalculation) of the pension;
- or taking into account the length of service and wages after the previous assignment (recalculation) of the pension.
