In June, Russian restaurants raised food prices by 10%. As reported “News”the increase is due to the rise in price of products.

According to the Federation of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs, the cost of imported olive oil, sauces, seafood, and canned food has increased. For some categories of dishes, price increases can even reach 35%.

“Products make up an average of 25-30% of the cost of a restaurant menu, and following the rise in prices for goods, the cost of dishes also begins to increase. Usually restaurants try to raise them slowly so that this measure is not so noticeable for guests,” shared general director of the consulting company Restcon Elena Perepelitsa.

She also noted that due to a too sharp rise in prices, demand may fall sharply, some people will simply stop visiting establishments in which dishes have become more expensive by 35%.

Dmitry Moskalenko, President of the Russian Council of Shopping Centers, believes that the current situation will not cause a massive outflow of visitors.

The publication also notes that shopping centers with a large number of catering outlets have become especially popular because of the entertainment component. As a result, the demand for various cafes is also growing.

Earlier, representatives of the network of fast food restaurants “Vkusno – i dotka” said that from June 26, prices for dishes will increase. They also promised to develop various promotions for customers in the mobile application.
