According to the Prime Minister, local budgets have accumulated more than UAH 150 billion in their accounts, so they can finance water services and not put extra strain on people’s wallets.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said in the broadcast of the United News telethon that water supply and sewerage tariffs should not be raised until the end of the war.

The Prime Minister stressed that it is impossible to place an additional financial burden on the shoulders of the people during the war. “So just like the heat and hot water tariffs, I’m sure there is no need to put an additional burden on people until hostilities end in Ukraine. That’s the compromise local budgets can get.” said.

Shmygal stressed that although the State Regulatory Commission in the National Energy and Utilities Fields (NEURC) is an independent body.

He also said: “At this time, during this war, it’s crucial that people act cohesively as one team and make informed decisions so that we can balance the needs of the state with the capabilities of the people.”

According to him, local budgets have accumulated more than UAH 150 billion in their accounts to be able to finance water services.

“In fact, we are talking about the fact that the local budgets of individual communities today have the opportunity to provide public services that provide drinking water with additional funds and do not raise the tariff for people, so as not to place an extra burden on people’s payments. and people’s wallets, ”explained the chief government.
