How not to be left without a pension: the PFC said in what cases you can count on payments

One month of insurance experience is counted if the employees of the company are paid the full minimum wage for which accruals are made to the PFC. If only part of the salary is paid to employees, the length of service is counted in proportion to the amount of contribution.

During Russia’s extensive occupation of Ukraine, which lasted more than 500 days, Ukrainians increasingly began to worry about how they would not be left without paying a pension. The war has caused cutbacks and sometimes even the total closure of many businesses, leaving 346,000 citizens officially unemployed in the country in the first six months of 2023. To clarify the situation, the press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine explained in which cases those who continue to work will be credited for the period of insurance.

According to the PFC, a full month of service counts if a business is idle but continues to pay its employees the official minimum wage of UAH 6,700.

“In order for a one-month insurance experience to be credited, the minimum contribution calculated over the minimum wage must be deposited. If part or half of the amount is paid, it is counted in proportion to the experience percentage.” contribution amount,” explained the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

Note that in order to retire at age 60 in 2023, the insurance period must be at least 30 years. If a person has less official exit at that age, they are eligible to retire at age 63 with at least 20 years of insurance experience.

The minimum threshold entitlement to a pension at the age of 65 is 15 years of guardianship.

Also, one of the main reasons for the refusal to allocate a pension or the loss of part of the insurance period and, as a result, the decrease in the amount of pension payments is incorrectly formatted information in the work book. The PFC advises Ukrainians to think carefully about this issue and check their documentation.
