The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to supervise the payments of Ukrainians living in the occupied territories. Some citizens are likely to be deprived of state support.
An audit will be carried out on the appropriateness of the continuation of some social payments in Ukraine. Citizens living in areas currently temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation may lose their cash benefits. This was announced on the evening of September 7 by Irina Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration.
The statement said, “There are payments that require revision in terms of social justice and political interest. So we need to look once again how justified it is to continue the payments.”

According to him, the state continues to financially support some of the teachers, doctors and employees of public enterprises, as well as immigrants in areas currently under the control of the occupiers.
Subsidies and benefits are also paid to Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories, but almost all public services there have virtually suspended work due to the conflict.
“So far we are not talking about the cancellation of payments. We are talking about an audit and an assessment of its suitability in terms of current reality. According to the results of the audit, some payments may be terminated or suspended,” ”Irina Vereshchuk emphasized.
The minister noted that in the near future, ministries and departments will carry out the relevant audit and submit working proposals.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine said that some citizens are having problems recording their pension payments. So, according to Daria Marchak, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Social Policy, difficulties arise for Ukrainians who live in the Russian Federation or the occupied territory of Crimea and then move to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

They cannot apply for a pension, because in order to receive payments according to the legislation of Ukraine, it is necessary to obtain confirmation from the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation that this country does not pay pensions to such citizens.
