The Ministry of Energy responded to messages about power outages circulating on social networks on the eve of the heating season.
Ukrainians have been repeatedly warned that the Russian Armed Forces are accumulating resources to return to energy terror tactics in the autumn-winter period. Therefore, many citizens are concerned about whether the lights will be turned off in the winter and what the schedule for turning off the lights will be. On October 16, the Department of Energy informed consumers about what they should be prepared for.
Therefore, the ministry noted that recently messages began to appear on social networks claiming that energy engineers are ready to implement power outage plans. However, the Ministry of Energy denies this information.
Important
“The electricity produced by Ukrainian power plants is still fully sufficient to meet the needs of consumers. No restrictions in electricity supply are expected in any region of the country yet,” the message says.
It is stated that in the event of major rocket attacks, power outage programs may be implemented if the invaders damage power equipment. Another reason why consumers are left without electricity in Ukraine is technological disruptions or adverse weather conditions.
The ministry states that energy engineers continue to prepare the energy system for the upcoming heating season. Consumers are asked to exercise caution and use only official and reliable information.
Meanwhile, on October 12, the head of the Ukrenergo company, Vladimir Kudrytsky, said that the energy system was able to cover normal winter electricity consumption, despite all the damage. He said power engineers simulated the coldest day and discovered that the power system could withstand it if it imported current and connected additional gas power units.
Important
Earlier, on October 6, Yasno CEO Sergei Kovalenko said that in the new heating season, Ukrainians should hope that the winter will pass without severe frosts. The truth is that whether citizens will have light in their homes will depend on the weather.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, warned that Russian invaders are preparing to continue their attacks on our country’s energy infrastructure. According to him, the enemy is gathering forces to carry out new missile attacks on Ukraine.
