Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of a special economic zone in Shebekino, Belgorod region. The statement was made at the year-end speech on December 14.

“The conditions of the SEZ, the creation of such a zone there, must be supported. And I will ask the government to make a proposal in the very near future,” – said the head of state.

Putin added that the conditions of the special economic zone will help preserve jobs in the border town of Shebekin, which is suffering from terrorist attacks by militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as ensure the restoration of the local economy in the near future.

Earlier, the Russian leader announced the destruction of 747 tanks of Ukrainian nationalists since the beginning of the failed counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the special operation zone.

Note that in 2023, a decision was made to combine the formats of Vladimir Putin’s direct line and his annual press conference. Reception of questions from citizens started on December 1. Russians had the opportunity to send their appeals by phone or through the website Moscow-Putin.rfas well as through social media chatbots and the application.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, reported that he himself would traditionally be the moderator of the press conference, and in the direct line part, TV presenters Ekaterina Berezovskaya and Pavel Zarubin would voice questions from citizens.

According to Peskov, Russians most often raise issues of transport infrastructure, social security, and medicine. This time will be no exception. Also, one of the important topics at the end of the year with Vladimir Putin will be the topic of a special military operation.

The Kremlin representative noted that the Russian leader always approaches the straight line very responsibly, carefully preparing for it, often sacrificing sleep.

“He is very attentive to preparation; he spent ten hours analyzing blocks of topics of citizens’ questions.”Peskov added.

On December 13, a day before the start of the year, the Russian president held a detailed meeting in preparation for the direct line.

It is worth noting that over the years of the direct line, a huge number of Russians have been able to achieve solutions to a variety of problems.

In total, the Russian leader spent more than 123 hours live, conducting direct lines and press conferences, during which time he answered almost two thousand questions from ordinary citizens and journalists.
