According to First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy Taras Vysotsky, in 2024 Ukrainian-made products will definitely not be more expensive in supermarkets.

Ukrainians should not worry about strong price shocks in 2024. Therefore, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy believes that prices of basic products will remain stable next year. Taras Vysotsky, the first deputy head of the relevant minister, said this live at the telethon.

Less bread in 2024. Why are agricultural companies turning to meat production and how will this affect prices?

According to him, in 2024 Ukraine will experience traditional price fluctuations, but domestic products will be available to all consumers. Sugar and sunflower oil are already getting cheaper.

“There is a stable situation in meat and dairy products compared to last year, there are literally 5 percent fluctuations. We are talking about Ukrainian products. We share this because imports are expensive due to logistics. But we should not have problems in feed production.” “Therefore, in principle, next year there should be a stable situation in the main blocks of domestic products. It is quite possible that there will be traditional but small seasonal fluctuations. But nothing more than that.” said Vysotsky.

Vysotsky emphasized that some trends have emerged in the prices of Ukrainian products. For example, the price of borscht vegetables has dropped significantly compared to last year. This is because Ukrainian farmers now grow crops in the central and western regions of the country.

“This trend will continue and next year there will be no critical increase in prices in this area,” emphasized the First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine.

The same applies to all types of grains.

“Buckwheat prices are 2-3 times lower than record prices. The harvest here is also sufficient and no increase in price is expected,” Taras Vysotsky summarized.
