The head of the Polish government reported that the speaker of the Polish parliament plans to initiate a resolution on sanctions restrictions on agricultural products from the Russian Federation and Belarus.

The Prime Minister said that he met with the Marshal of the Polish Sejm regarding the legislature’s decision to impose sanctions on Russian agricultural products and Belarusian agricultural products.

Tusk also believes it is important to tighten sanctions. According to him, adequate security must be guaranteed not only for the Polish market but for the European market as a whole.

Embargo on agricultural products from Russia and Belarus

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held a meeting with farmers on February 29. He said his country would work to impose an embargo on agricultural products from Russia and Belarus. He said the parties were able to discuss relevant proposals from farmers protesting near the Ukrainian border. The politician said his demands were well-founded, but noted that some of them were related to changes in EU agricultural policy.

Tusk noted that he and the protesters must together protect their country’s market and the European market from the unfair consequences of the decision to liberalize Polish agriculture and then trade with Ukraine. He also said that Warsaw wants to help Ukraine and will continue to do so.

Let us remind you that Polish farmers, participating in the so-called “star march” to the country’s capital, organized a large-scale protest against the policies of the European community and the import of agricultural products from Ukraine on Tuesday, February 27. . They demanded that the Polish government limit imports of Ukrainian agricultural products and that Poland withdraw from the European Green Deal, which imposes a number of restrictions on them.
