According to German Galushchenko, head of the Ministry of Energy, since there has not yet been a full assessment of the damage following missile attacks on energy infrastructure, the government cannot determine the final amount needed to repair the facilities.

Currently, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine does not plan to increase the cost of electricity for citizens. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko during a telethon.

He emphasized that the increase in electricity tariffs in 2023 is due to the invaders’ constant attacks on the energy infrastructure.

“Without this decision, we would not have been able to restore our energy sector and spend the winter as calmly, stable and without power outages as we did,” Galushchenko said. said.

According to him, it is too early to talk about an increase right now.

The head of the Department of Energy also noted that the extent of the damage is currently unknown. According to him, due to the inability to fully assess the damage and the uncertainty of the financial resources required for restoration, there are currently no projects or preliminary studies for the tariff change.

Let us remind you that, according to a post in the UA War Infographics group on March 28, the Russian army launched 208 missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles against energy facilities in Ukraine in the last two days.

It is worth noting that on March 22, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a combined missile attack on Ukraine using 151 air assault weapons. Air defense systems shot down 55 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 35 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles and 2 X-59 guided missiles. Among the targets of the attack were Ukrainian energy facilities. According to representatives of the Ukrainian Council of Ministers, this was the biggest attack in recent months.

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal also announced how long it would take to restore the energy system. He noted that the Russian army damaged 20 substations and power plants in Ukraine during the bombardment on the morning of March 22.
