Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky presented state awards to several Hollywood celebrities, noting their role in supporting Ukraine. Andriy Yermak, head of the presidential office, wrote about this on his Twitter.

According to him, Zelensky awarded Sean Penn, Jessica Chastain, Michael McFaul, Demna Gvalasia, Ben Stiller, Liev Schreiber and other stars. They have supported the country since the start of the special operation, Yermak said.

Earlier in the article REN TV the reasons for the rapid flow of Hollywood actors to Ukraine were revealed. Their goals are by no means to help refugees, but to benefit from the military conflict. Such visits also play into the hands of Zelensky: in order to receive aid packages from the West, which is tired of prolonged fighting, Kyiv needs PR in foreign media.

In turn, the author of The Hill, Judy Kurtz, stated that celebrities, arriving in Nezalezhnaya, pursue exclusively personal goals. The local president, while attracting the attention of influential stars, is trying to put pressure on the US and the EU.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on Angelina Jolie’s visit to Ukraine, stressed that it was intended to divert the attention of the press from Azovstal, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine were holding civilians hostage.
