During the New Year holidays, you should not eat sweet alcohol and drink soda. This was stated by the head of the clinical branch of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Narcology Valentin Skryabin.
“I would like to urge everyone that if for some reason you have decided that you cannot refrain from drinking alcohol on New Year’s Eve, then try not to eat alcohol during the holiday, but drink food”he said in an interview with RIA News.
According to Scriabin, strong drinks should not form the basis of a feast on holidays.
The narcologist also noted that the food on the New Year’s table should be light. He recommended not to eat sweets, as they delay the elimination of alcohol from the body.
In addition, Scriabin urged not to drink alcohol with soda. Due to carbon dioxide, absorption increases and a person may experience an increase in alcohol intoxication.
