New Year holidays are always associated with a huge table full of various delicacies. Russians are preparing for New Year’s Eve for a long time, buying food and thinking over the menu. Unfortunately, well-fed and lazy holidays can bring with them not only joy, but also extra pounds. Nutritionist of the Moscow Department of Health Antonina Starodubova told how to get the body in shape after a week-long olive-tangerine marathon.
First of all, do not panic, the doctor reassured. To get rid of excess body fat, you have to act systematically and consistently. In this case, it is important to get in shape in such a way that you do not gain extra pounds again in a short time.
“First of all, you should return to a healthy diet as soon as possible, the main principle of which is energy balance – that is, all the energy received from food must be used up,” dietitian advises in an interview with Lenta.ru.
In this case, the body must be provided with all the necessary substances: vitamins, proteins, fats, carbohydrates and minerals. They need to be consumed in a balanced ratio, the nutritionist clarified.
Starodubova also advised to follow the correct diet. Three main meals are recommended: breakfast, lunch and dinner, which can be supplemented with two small snacks throughout the day.
In each of the main meals, the nutritionist recommended to include vegetables or a vegetable dish. In addition, it is important to ensure that the body receives enough protein from food. Otherwise, he begins to use the proteins of his own organs and tissues, primarily muscle tissue, to ensure life.
Of course, an integral factor in returning to the usual rhythm of life is physical activity. At the same time, you need to choose the type of physical activity that a person is ready to do not from time to time, but regularly and with pleasure, Starodubova explained.
