People’s Deputy Nikolai Tishchenko claims that President Vladimir Zelensky went on a business trip to Thailand at his own expense to work on his strategy in Asian countries. He expressed this in an interview with Babel.
Tishchenko claims that on January 10, 2023, he crossed the border with Ukraine with a biometric passport and did not use a diplomatic passport on the train. “Why did I do this? The State Department and the President forbade taking diplomatic passports on any travel,” he explained.
The people’s deputy stressed that even before the National Security and Defense Council’s decision to ban the authorities from leaving the country, adopted on January 23, he went to Thailand at his own expense.
Tishchenko said he had documents signed by parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk and Servant of the People party chairman David Arakhamia, but these documents were about a vacation, not a business trip. Therefore, according to the deputy, he went on a business trip at his own expense.
Tishchenko said he is currently in Vietnam, where he is carrying out his parliamentary work.
“The top leadership of the country, like me, has set a task to every people’s deputy, every vice president of the faction, to work with lawmakers and make progress in areas. They have chosen strategic regions – United Arab Emirates, Asia, Africa. Let’s say today, what is happening in the European part of the world? countries that don’t understand it’s over,” said Tishchenko.
The MP added that he would arrive in Ukraine in a few days after completing his visit to Vietnam, but did not say what to do, saying it was classified information.
