VAKS sentenced former Attorney General’s office to 9 years in prison, who wrote Audi to his grandmother

Dmitry Sus was found guilty of embezzlement and selling property seized during searches of underground casinos.

Dmitry Sus, former deputy head of one of the Offices of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, was sentenced to 9 years in prison. This decision was made by the Anti-Corruption High Court after the meeting held on January 31.

Dmitry Sus was found guilty of embezzling and selling property (cash, slot machines, poker and roulette tables, bar stools, video recorder and other property) seized during searches of underground casinos.

The prosecution immediately charged the former chief investigator under section 3, section 4 and section 4 of article 191 of the Criminal Code. The prosecution petitioned for Dmitry Sus to be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Evaluating the objections of the prosecution and the defense, VAKS sentenced the former chief prosecutor to 9 years in prison by being barred from serving in courts, law enforcement and bar association for 3 years. In addition, Themis ordered the confiscation of all the property of Dmitry Sus and deprived him of the rank of “Senior Justice Counselor”.

The decision of VAKS can be appealed within 30 days from the announcement date.

Recall that in 2016, the then Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko scolded Dmitry Sus, the former deputy head of the Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases in the Economic Field of the Prosecutor General’s Office, for not specifying an elite Audi car. his statement. The vehicle was registered to his elderly grandmother’s name.

In 2017, Dmitry Sus was detained at the Boryspil airport by NABU detectives on suspicion of committing a crime in accordance with Chapters 3, 4, 5 of Art. 191 (appropriation, embezzlement or possession of property by official misconduct) and Art. 366-1 (false information). Three months before the special operation, the suspect was expelled from the Office of the Prosecutor General for “acting that discredits the requirements of Ukrainian laws, the rules of prosecutorial ethics, and also the title of prosecutor”.

In the summer of 2017, NABU head Artem Sytnik claimed that an assassination attempt was being prepared against the detectives who oversaw the Dmitry Sus case.

In August 2019, the court annulled the dismissal of Toa Prosecutor General’s investigator Dmitry Sus, who transferred the elite Audi car to his grandmother.
