The commander of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade “Cold Yar” Dmitry Bryzhinsky received a promotion. The Ukrainian army under his command used the Turkish Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicle for the first time in the battles in Donbass.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Dmitry Bryzhinsky to head the military administration of the city of Chernihiv. The appointment decree was published by the Presidency on 17 February.

“To appoint Bryzhinsky Dmitry Vladimirovich to head the military administration of the Chernigov region of the Chernigov region,” the text of the document says.

The military administration of the city of Chernihiv was created recently. Zelensky’s decree on its creation was published on February 7.

In the decree, “The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Chernihiv Regional State Administration will implement measures regarding the establishment of a military administration in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Legal Regime of Martial Law.” said the president.

At that time, it was not known exactly who would head the administration.

Zelensky appointed Bryzhinsky: what is known about the army?

Dmitry Bryzhinsky, a graduate of the Kharkov Institute of Tank Forces, graduated with honors in 2001. After that, he studied at the Chernihiv State Institute of Economics and Management with a degree in Finance, studied law at the National University “Chernihiv Collegium” named after TG Shevchenko. In 2018, he received a diploma from the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky.

In the spring of 2014, Bryzhinsky led a company-tactical group from the 1st separate tank brigade, which covered the border with Ukraine, in the Yampol-Shostka department in the Sumy region.

In June 2014, he headed the battalion-tactical group of the 1st separate tank brigade, which fought in the direction of Luhansk in the settlement of Shchastya. After that, he was transferred to the operational command “North” as a senior officer of the operational training department.

Bryzhinsky became the commander of the 93rd Kholodny Yar mechanized brigade in March 2019. It was under his command that the Turkish Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicle was first used in Donbass in October 2021.

He led the defense of Chernigov during the large-scale invasion of the Russian invaders.

Recall that on February 7, the Verkhovna Rada approved the candidacy of Igor Klymenko for the post of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. His predecessor, Denis Monastyrsky, died in a helicopter crash in Brovary, near Kiev.

On the same day, deputies approved the appointment of Vasily Malyuk to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

On February 6, Zelensky promised to appoint only people with military experience as heads of the border and front-line Ukrainian regions.
