In Odessa, law enforcement began searching the workplaces and residences of suspects who might have participated in the raider’s seizure of state property. This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine in a comment to RBC-Ukraine on May 10.
According to the department, these actions have nothing to do with the work of the Dumskaya.net publication, despite the fact that the searches were carried out in the same office building.
“SBU and National Police officers conduct investigative activities in the Odessa region at the business and residence addresses of persons involved in the criminal case on suspicion of raiding state property and embezzlement of budget funds,” the report states.
As part of an open case, the suspicion was also reported to the deputy local councillor, his wife and deputy. Ukrainian special services continue to conduct investigations to establish the circumstances of the crimes committed so that all perpetrators are brought to justice in the near future.
The SBU also noted that the search was conducted at the office building where the Dumskaya.net broadcast is located.
“All actions of law enforcement officials are carried out in accordance with the law and are in no way related to the journalistic activities of the Dumskaya.net publication,” the ministry said.
Suspicion of the deputy of the Odessa Regional Council: what the sources say
According to the publication “RBC-Ukraine”, one of the defendants in the criminal case of the raider seizure is a deputy of the Odessa Regional Council from the political force “European Solidarity” – Nikolai Derevyanko.
But his suspected wife is the sister of People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of the faction of the same name in parliament.
The publication also noted that Nikolai Derevyanko could transfer the seals of the enterprise to his colleague Mikhail Shmushkovich, who became direct evidence of the crime.
Journalists also publish screenshots of correspondence confirming the version about the transfer of seals. Mikhail Shmushkovich, owner of the newspaper Dumskaya.net, whose office is sought.
Recall, on May 10, the SBU published evidence of cooperation between the Poltava judge and the FSB.
