Zelensky pardoned: the Ministry of Justice said how many prisoners served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (document)

The Criminal Code of Ukraine allows the removal of preventive measures in wartime for persons suspected of all crimes, with the exception of serious articles. The forgiven have the right to serve in army units.

In 2022, by decree of Ukrainian President Volodymyr, 363 convicts who wanted to participate in the defense of Ukraine from a large-scale attack by Russia were pardoned. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in response to a request. Focus.

Information about the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where pardoned prisoners served, is unknown to the authorities.

“Prisoners held in the institutions of the State Prison Service of Ukraine were not involved in the work to ensure defensive measures and eliminate the consequences of hostilities,” the Ministry of Justice said.

The Ministry added that the procedure for removing the preventive measure for prisoners for military service during mobilization is determined in accordance with the norms of the Criminal Code.

The Ministry of Justice did not provide data on prisoners mobilized for 2023. Focus He asked the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to clarify the details of the mobilization of prisoners and their role at the front, but at the time of publication of the news, the military command did not comment. It is worth emphasizing that in March last year Zelensky signed a law amending the Criminal Code of Ukraine (CC) on the abolition of preventive measures for serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law. The document describes a list of prisoners who were amnesty for military service during general mobilization.

Article 616 of the Penal Code gives the right to lift the preventive measure in time of war to those suspected of all crimes, with the exception of such serious articles as 115, 146-147, 152-156, 255, 255(1), 257, 258-. 262, 305-321, 330, 335-337, 401-414, 426-433, 436 and 437-442.

The items listed above include murder, theft, violence, minor corruption, organized crime, robbery and treason.

Recall that on March 13, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that convicted women were sent by train to the Donetsk region.
