While discussing aid to Ukraine, House Speaker Mike Johnson noted how important it was for the United States to “work to change its own border policy.”
The issue of assistance to Ukraine is urgent and will be considered a priority in the work of the American Congress. House Speaker Mike Johnson said this during a trip to Florida on Monday.
The head of the Kremlin stated that Vladimir Putin should not be allowed to “walk in Europe”. According to him, American lawmakers understand how important the need to provide aid to Ukraine is.
Important
Johnson said it was important to “try to change our own border policies”. Active negotiations on this issue are currently ongoing among American politicians.
“I think most of our colleagues in the Senate recognize that those two things have to go together,” he explained.
The speaker stated that he felt “confident and optimistic” about considering the issue of aid to Ukraine. Congress could provide additional funding for both Israel and Ukraine.
Aid to Ukraine – Conversation between Johnson and Biden
US President Joe Biden and Mike Johnson discussed financial aid to Ukraine in late October. The speaker of the House of Representatives said he is open to discussing additional funding for Ukraine and Israel, as well as extending the resolution to keep the government open. On the other hand, he has vowed to push for significant cuts in related spending and has faced resistance among conservative MPs in his caucus.
Let us recall that on November 8, NSDC Secretary Alexey Danilov called on allies to stop being afraid of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He drew Western attention to his reluctance to bother him with military aid.
