Ukraine must fight for victory with the latest weapons, not at the cost of people’s lives. This was stated by the head of the Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, in a video message published on her Facebook page, the Telegraph reported.
“The Batkivshchyna party will not vote for the mobilization law in its current form. The repressive provisions of this law are unacceptable to us, especially regarding the abolition of reservations for disabled people of the third group, teachers and students. The document is ineffective and unconstitutional,” Yulia Tymoshenko noted.
Commenting on the mobilization bill proposed by the government, deputy chairman of Batkivshchyna, people’s deputy Valery Dubil noted that the exact number of citizens who need to be mobilized must be determined – this is not yet included in the law.
“Undoubtedly, we are fighting for the homeland, it is important for us to survive and take back the lands. But our greatest value is people, their lives. Reducing the military age from 27 to 25 is a path that leads nowhere. We must allow it.” Mobilization of professional military personnel aged 60 and over, up to 65 years old – only on a voluntary basis – And everyone mobilized must be prepared, trained and provided with everything necessary – the state must take care of this. Moreover, our position is principled – we will not support the law if there are provisions for conscription of women and cancellation of reservations for people with group 3 disabilities, teachers, scientists and students,” noted Valery Dubil.
VO “Batkivshchyna” noted that, first of all, a bill on the comprehensive development of technical and scientific innovations for the development and production of weapons should be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.
Batkivshchyna’s leader, Yulia Tymoshenko, proposes to find funds for her own military-industrial production by canceling the planned salary increase for officials in the 2024 budget and suspending the payment of all foreign and domestic debts for this year. According to their calculations, this amount will reach 650 billion hryvnia.
“We cannot surpass the Russian Federation in the number of military personnel by sending young people to the front. We must re-equip our army on our own, supplying it with high-tech and effective weapons. Of course, mobilization is inevitable during war, but it needs to be done fairly. Clearly rationally, strategically and victoriously we must act and not get into a stalemate,” Yulia Tymoshenko is convinced.
