Ukrainian sports publications have heavily criticized Marseille midfielder and national team member Ruslan Malinovsky for giving a friendly hug to Monaco’s Russian player Oleksandr Golovin.

The shots with the athletes were taken during the match in the 20th round of the French championship.

“strange act” – noted on the Ukrainian sports website in the headline of the material Sport.ua.

Journalists noted that fans from Ukraine demanded an explanation for such an act.

A heated discussion among Ukrainians also broke out on social networks. Some netizens urge not to let Malinovsky into Ukraine until he apologizes to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Recall that Golovin has been playing for Monaco since 2018. Prior to that, he played for the capital’s CSKA. Malinowski has been playing for Marseille since 2019.
