Which Los Angeles Dodgers players are on the 2023 MLB Top 100 Players list?

The MLB season begins March 30, and ESPN has released its list of the top 100 major league players. The Los Angeles Dodgers have 5 players on their roster and will once again be looking to win the National League West Division this year.

The first Dodgers player to make the list was Freddie Freeman. finished 5th behind Shohei Otani, Mike Trout, Aaron Judge and Manny Machado.

Freeman was in 2022 in his first year with the Los Angeles franchise. It was a big year for the first baseman after finishing with 199 hits, 21 home runs and a .325 batting average, one of the first in the National League. He also had 100 RBIs and 117 runs scored.

The next player for the Dodgers is outfielder Mookie Betts, number 9. Betts is considered one of the best hitters in the majors due to his ability to hit the ball.

In 2022, he finished with a .269 batting average, 154 hits, 35 home runs, 82 RBIs, and a 6.2 WAR. The outfielder has a $365 million contract through 2032.

After Freeman and Betts, Mexican left-hander Julio Urias is in 46th place. Easter cakes come in his best year in the Major Leagues after he was a finalist for the Cy Young Award behind Sandy Alcantara.

Urias finished with a record of 17 wins and 7 losses, a 2.16 ERA over 175 innings. This will be the final year of arbitration for the Mexican pitcher, so he could become a free agent in 2024.

The fourth Dodgers player on the list is catcher Will Smith at number 47. Smith is in the fifth year of his career and has established himself as an attacking receiver.

Smith had 132 hits, 24 home runs and 87 RBIs in 2022. He also finished with 4.1 WAR.

And the last player in the top 100 for the Los Angeles Dodgers was left-handed starter Clayton Kershaw. who signed a one-year contract in what could be his last season in the Major Leagues.

Three-time winner Sai Yang, ranked 87th, has struggled with injuries in recent years, but his 2022 season has been good. He finished with a record of 12 wins and 3 losses in 22 starts with a 2.28 ERA.
