The Universidad Católica de Chile club issued a ruling on the incident. in which Fernandez was released and no third parties were harmed.
“The striker was released in violation of the rules for drunk driving, as there were no injured third parties in the accident,” the Chilean team said.
“Our club will continue to collect as much information as possible. As for possible internal measures, they will be taken as soon as we have all the necessary information, including the player’s own version, ”he added.
The club gave the players a day off so the player was in Buenos Aires, Argentina.. The University of Chile will resume training this Monday, April 3, and may decide to punish Fernandez for his violation.
