Effectively tearing a T-shirt at the weigh-in was suggested to Piraev by a friend. He even tore the edges a little to make it easier for the fighter, but he refused. Piraev’s argument is simple – it is better to demonstrate strength only in the ring or training.
“I will show my strength tomorrow in the ring. I believe that any person should show their strength not in training, in the gym. So that they don’t fight anywhere on the street”Piraev explained.
He said that he spent a lot of time at the training camp in Thailand and was in excellent shape, but 40 days before the fight he became very ill, and his immunity dropped a lot.
“I was ill for almost the entire month before the fight, and in general I did 12 workouts. But I’m in shape, everything is fine”– summed up Marif Piraev.
