Tsitsipas removed his mother from the match with Medvedev because of speaking Russian

Greek tennis player Sefanos Tsitsipas during the semifinal match of the Masters tournament in Rome, where he played against Russian Daniil Medvedev, asked his mother Yulia Salnikova to leave the stadium and does not speak Russian with him.

This was told by commentator Nick Lester, quoted by RT.

According to Lester, Tsitsipas told his mother not to communicate with him in Russian during breaks, as Medvedev might overhear it.

Then the tennis player asked his father to take his mother out of the stadium.

Earlier it became known that the Russian managed to beat the Greek in two sets with a score of 7:5, 7:5. The match lasted 1 hour and 47 minutes.

In the Masters final, Medvedev will face Dane Holger Rune.

Medvedev arranged an incendiary dance on the court after the victory.
