Santi Jimenez spoke honestly about the humiliation of El Tri: “We were not up to the USA”

Mexico lost 3-0 to the USA in the semi-final of the Concacafe Nations League. in a match that ended in a scandal over homophobic yelling fans and a red card from Cesar Montes. El Tri striker Santiago Jiménez admits the Mexican side “failed to do the job” and that there is a lot of room for improvement.

The Mexican team was humiliated against the US team used to beating Mexico. Santi detailed in statements after the game how he felt after the humiliation and what they should do now.

“I think we should have given explanations on the pitch, but we didn’t. We were not up to the USA, who from the first minute tried to win. We had no such intention and we cannot win the game this way,” the striker said after the game.
