Luzhniki offers free surf lessons. The “Artificial Wave” facility is located on the site of the “My District” program of the mayor of the capital, operating within the framework of the Moscow Urban Forum (MUF), the organizers said.

Classes are held in a special pool: beginners are taught to stay on the board and try turns, and those who already have basic surfing skills will be helped to master more complex elements.

The facility is located behind the Grand Sports Arena near the Ferris wheel and is open all days of the MUF until 21:00. Each master class is designed for five people and lasts 55 minutes. A board and a wetsuit will be given out to those who wish on the spot.

Entrance to the pool is free, by appointment, which is conducted through the website of the MUF. Anyone over the age of 16 can attend classes. You can sign up for free slots the next day.

On weekends, the “Artificial Wave” hosts demonstration performances of professional riders and leading surfers of Russia.

The Moscow Urban Forum this year has become the largest in its history. It takes place at the largest venues in the capital from August 1 to September 10. Visitors to the MUF can learn about the main achievements of the city in various fields and take part in the festival program.

In 2018, at the initiative of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the My District program was launched in the capital, the goal of which is to create comfortable living conditions in all urban areas. As part of the program, a modern urban environment is being formed, transport accessibility is improving, the quality of education and medical care is being improved, additional opportunities for sports are being created, existing cultural sites are being updated and new ones are being opened. A set of specific transformations depends on the wishes of local residents.
