The International Cyber Sports Federation (IESF) upheld Ukraine’s complaint and decided to suspend membership in the organization of the Russian Computer Sports Federation (FKS Russia), according to the IESF website.

It is indicated that the decision was made by the governing body of the IESF due to the fact that earlier the FCC of Russia, according to the Ukrainian side, began activities in new regions of Russia. It is emphasized that the suspension of membership will last until the meeting of the IESF General Assembly, where full members of the organization will have to resolve the issue of extending the suspension or restoring the rights of the FCC of Russia.

Russian players and teams, as stated in the statement, will be able to compete in federation tournaments in a neutral status.

In August 2023, Russian esports athletes were allowed to compete in tournaments with the flag and anthem. The decision was made by the International Esports Federation at its regular congress. The proposal to admit Russians to the tournaments was supported by 32 country representatives, 13 voted against, and 25 congress participants abstained from voting. Afterwards, Ukraine withdrew squads in all disciplines from the World Championships under the auspices of the IESF.
